Frequently Asked Questions

What is active compression and cryotherapy technology?

The Game Ready GRPro 2.1 utilizes patented ACCEL® (Active Compression and Cold Exchange Loop) technology to deliver both active compression and therapeutic cold (cryotherapy) simultaneously. This innovative system applies intermittent pneumatic compression by increasing and releasing pressure, while also circulating ice water rapidly through distinct wrap chambers.

With its control unit, you can personalize your treatment by adjusting time, pressure, and temperature settings, tailored to your doctor's advice and your stage of recovery.

What is active compression therapy?

Active compression therapy involves utilizing a device to intermittently apply pressure to the area surrounding an injury or surgical site. Unlike static compression, which is typically administered through elastic bandages or wraps, active compression offers several advantages. While static compression aids in preventing edema buildup and reducing swelling, active compression goes further by mimicking natural muscle contractions, effectively pumping away edema and enhancing the flow of oxygenated blood to the injury site.

When paired with cold therapy, active compression therapy enhances the delivery of therapeutic cold by expanding the skin-contact surface area. Moreover, the cold penetrates deeper with active compression compared to static compression, enabling the therapeutic benefits to reach more damaged tissues and extend their duration.
